XX years’ activity makes Desalto at the same time a young company, but also a historical one.

 Desalto can lay claim to two titles: to a fresh youth, which allows it to band together iconic chairs and clothes stands, like graphic signs sketched in the air, to flexible tables that are as flexible as our daily life. 
But, as we are saying, Desalto enters the history of design at the beginning of the nineties. Its story sees the four brothers Orsenigo turn a tradition into a reality which could better answer the demands of the time. 
In Desalto originality is linked to tradition by another extraordinary peculiarity, namely its concept of technological research. A complex and sophisticated research supported by the most up-to-date machinery, but always deliberately “silent” in its results, a technical capacity never shown for itself, but always functional with a result of clarity and simplification. Today, on its twenthieth anniversary, Desalto hasn’t turned into an “editor of design”, but it’s still a “producer of design” maintaining the connection between territory and project, a company project aimed at making all normal corporate activities sustainable. 
And this interplay (dialectic) between tradition and originality allows it to show precision in its project, topicality in its context and grace in its design; to underline the rigour of its invention and the courage of its choices; to emphasize elegance of substance and modesty of expression. 
From the sum of those features descend products that represent the desalto idea of contemporary living.
